When you attend the Clinic you are strongly advised to arrange for someone to drive you home. After treatment you may be issued with a soft collar in order to prevent you from extending your head. This will allow the newly re-positioned crystals to embed within the structure from where they originated. To this end, you will be required to wear the collar for the first night and sleep upright in a chair or with three or four extra pillows. After this you can resume a normal life.

 

Sensations of BPPV may be fleeting for up to a week after treatment. This is NOT BPPV but simply quick spins that last for only one or two seconds and will diminish.

 

You will be invited to call the Clinic at 48 hours and also one week post-treatment. This is to ensure that treatment has abolished your signs and symptoms and will help to alleviate any worries that you may have.

 

You are also advised to avoid any provocative positions for at least 72 hours post-treatment.
