Artificially Induced Vestibular Imbalance

In an experiment, the subject had an electrical stimulator placed upon the head to artificially stimulate the vestibular system. This was radio-controlled and created a vestibular imbalance similar to that of a vestibular labyrinthitis or neuronitis. Additionally, the subject was instructed to wear reversed-prism glasses that irradicate the ability to use the visual system that would help to compensate for the imbalanced messages being sent from the vestibular system. The subject was instructed to walk in a straight line. The results are amazing!

These feelings of imbalance and a pull to one side are familiar to many vestibular patients. This imbalance of the vestibular system can be addressed by Vestibular Rehabilitation.
